Faithfulness. Do you doubt it? His, yours or both? When I am stretched in multiple directions, I doubt my endurance, my call, my faithfulness. Sometimes to Him, other times to you. This feeling masquerades like an invisibility cloak. No one sees it, but I know it's there. I drag it around like a bag of rocks, each opportunity I feel I missed, messed up, overlooked, I throw in a boulder. Can you imagine how the end of the day looks? I'm Barney Flintstone in a world of Bedrock, dragging a heavy load of useless rock. It's not pretty. It's weird and you and I... we are not called to this.
I snapped this picture yesterday. No filter, just God's. Just God's... two words that should never form a sentence! I think it snapped me back to Him. The colors, pinks and blues. My first thought was us, His children, who He creates female and male. Pink and blue. How obvious is He some mornings?!
I thought of two friends who just had baby girls, the joy I felt for them. Another friend expecting a baby girl soon. A friend experiencing the joy and fear of pregnancy... a miracle, yet one we mostly take for granted, not thinking of complications that can rob us of sleep, peace, joy... it's a long list. Keep looking up... He is there. He is faithful. He is beauty. He is good. Repeat.
Whatever it is that keeps us from looking up, recognizing the Truth of who we are.... we are His, His children, His love, His beauty. His precious gold, jewels, His bounty. We are in His hands. He paints our lives with the same colors and hand He paints the sky.
He tells me to lay down my bag of rocks and look up to the skies. He is there and when we lean in to one another, to laughter and joy and tears, He is there. He calms the storms with His promises to us.
If you struggle like I do, think of this... God provides a way for us each morning. He has souls to touch and one of them is ours. Be still, look up, ask Him for direction and trust Him with the moments. Don't fix, control or manipulate. Be the vessel of love, grace and peace. Be Still and Know That He Is God. Psalm 46:10 He is faithful so we can be. We can live out this faithfulness when we look up.
Instead of carrying a bag of rocks, which has no value, follow His command and make a difference in each others lives. "Carry each others burdens and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2
and remember... Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. Psalm 55:22
My friend, it's a new day to be His.... rest in this Truth. Find the beauty.
