The Monday Before The Cross...

C.S. Lewis said so much, worthy to repeat...

"He died not for men, but for each man. If each man had been the only man made, He would have done no less.” C.S. Lewis

We can't have the resurrection without the cross. We can't be redeemed without a Redeemer. We will never know freedom without a cost. Lucky for us, the cost was not ours, we are not our redeemer, but we still live the resurrection. Through Him, our Redeemer... Jesus, Yahweh, Prince of Peace.  We live in freedom.

And if we ever doubt, look up and around. We will see Him in the rising sun, the song of the mockingbird, the stars in the sky... a baby's cry.

“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” C.S. Lewis

Maybe this week we will find Him, in the travels, conversations, moments we consider... this life. Perhaps we will find Him here, with us all along, but maybe we breathed in and out a little slower, a little deeper. We caught His face, His manner, in another's words or gifts to us. We found Him in the child, the grandfather, the memory that catches our breath.

He is here... may we recognize Him. Our Redeemer lives.
