Hillsong, Oceans is playing, reminding me of truth... I am thinking, praying, writing. A bit raw from the world, the way it rubs up against me, leaving me bruised and bleeding from what I see, hear, feel.
I think of a meeting here last night. Beautiful women, sold out for God, in all their imperfect perfection. I love them. I love their determination, concern, fight. They fight hard. Even when we are unsure of where we are going, the goal remains. We look up. It's Him. Every day. We pray for friends who are sick, hurting, unsure of what lies ahead. We pray favor, healing, joy and peace. Our God is big...
Earlier, my friend sat on my couch. She is young, wise, hurt and healing. She is fighting for her faith, her relationships, her future. She knows the goal. Her God is big.
During the time of these gatherings two streets from my door, blood was shed. Cars and men and guns. One dead. One fled. This happened beside the tennis courts in the park where children played, singing songs on swings, heads thrown back looking up... as parents watched. The sun was shining hot as tempers flared and lives were changed.
Fighting... for what? What was their goal? Did they know how much Jesus loves them?
Earlier I met a new friend for coffee. From California she came, found our group, #KnownNashville through a writer, a church, a website... God continues to surprise me. We talked life, we both wear scars and joy... she told me of a time she sat in church and this big man preacher, who looked different than her, would stop his preaching and say... "JESUS LOVES YOU!" He was overcome with this knowledge and wanted his people to know this TRUTH! You don't forget those moments. She sent me a text today, "Jesus loves you Dale!" God... thank you for your daughters!
Jesus Loves You! Jesus Loves You! Jesus loves you!
and I hear Oceans... and how "my faith will stand because I will call upon Your name as oceans rise. My soul will rest, For I am Yours and You are mine. "
because ... "I am a daughter of the King Who is not moved by the world. For my God is with me and goes before me. I do not fear... because I am His."
Jesus loves us... Jesus loves us... Jesus loves us... there is no more and no less my friend. This is enough. Jesus...
